Parents/Guardians: Snap codes have been sent to your email on file. These are very important because it allows you to update your information in our system. If you did not recieve an email your child will recieve the snap code on the first day of school.

The Virginia Department of Social Services will issue a one-time $120 food benefit through
Virginia SUN Bucks beginning August 2024 to children who qualify. Children qualify and are
automatically enrolled in Virginia SUN Bucks if they receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or an income-based Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid). If you are not enrolled in SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid you can apply and potentially qualify for Virginia SUN Bucks by visiting VirginiaSunBucks.com and mailing the application to:

Applications will not be available until July 1, when the webpage goes live. The Application for SUN Bucks will require you to enter your child’s “Local Student ID Number.”
Contact the school your child attends to get this number. If you qualify, SUN Bucks benefits will be distributed beginning August 2024 on a rolling basis and will be loaded onto your current SNAP EBT Card or a Virginia SUN Bucks card.
The Tyler Giles Junior Youth Golf Day at Lonesome Pine Country Club will be held on July 30th! Free Golf Lessons, Free T-Shirts, Free Food, Free Golf and Give Aways for Junior Golfers (17 and under) starting at 9 a.m. Clubs will be provided to those who need them! Please contact Lonesome Pine Country Club (276-523-0739) to sign up.
Family Crisis Support Services will be sponsoring a community giveaway on August 24th, from 1pm - 6 pm at the Big Glades in Wise, Va. All items are free!
LFA Parents: August 7th from 10am-12noon the Health Department will be having a vaccination clinic for any 7th grade student that needs the mandatory vaccinations to begin school. Please remember, without these vaccinations your child will not be able to start school. If your child has already had the mandatory vaccinataions, please make sure we have a copy on file in the Guidance Office.

Free sports physicals will be offered at LFA on Monday, May 13th. Any student who wishes to have a physical must come by the office and pick up a physical form packet. Parents must fill out and sign the designated forms and send it back to school by the student.
Physicals will be performed on a first come, first serve basis. 58 spots will be available. Sending the form back with your student as soon as possible will secure their spot.

Hello 6th grade parents, Right now is an excellent time to schedule your upcoming 7th grader for their vaccinations. If you have these complete, please send us a copy.
These vaccinations must be completed before the 1st day of school, 08/08/2024 for ALL 7th graders. Don't wait until summer to get these to us, help us by doing this now.
