Duds & Dough
OVERVIEW
Duds & Dough is a post graduate transition program providing students with disabilities on-site job training in a school-based business. Students will operate a consignment/gift shop, open to the public and a catering service, limited to school events. Students will work for two to three years in the business and then have the opportunity to work in the community under the supervision of a job coach his/her final year.
ELIGIBILITY AND AGE REQUIREMENTS
Students should complete special diploma requirements in 4 years and graduate with their class.
Students should be between the ages of 18-22.
GOALS
Students will improve math, technology, daily living and social skills, while being responsible for the everyday experiences involved in running a business.
Students will develop skills for various occupations.
Students will demonstrate appropriate work habits and behaviors.
TIME AND LOCATION
Duds & Dough is a full day program located in a wing of Fry Hall in Building B at the Wise County Alternative Education Center, 515 Hurricane Road, Wise, Virginia.
