ATTN: All EHS students and parents
RE: Attendance
Just a courtesy reminder regarding our attendance policy....
When students are absent, please remember to turn in your excuse within 3 days of the absence in order for it to be excused.
Students may use 5 parent notes per semester- once reaching 5 total absences (excused or unexcused), only dr's excuses will be accepted.
Once a student reaches 6 unexcused absences in a school year-a mandatory parent conference will be scheduled. These meetings will be scheduled earlier for students who have had truancy/ chronic absenteeism in the past school year.
Students/Parents are referred to the truancy officer, once reaching 7 unexcused absences in the school year.
Chronic Absenteeism includes all absences-excused and unexcused.
Students who miss 10% or more of school are chronically absent ex. In 30 school days, if you have missed 3 or more days, you are chronically absent or in 90 school days, if you have missed 9 or more days, you are chronically absent, etc
Students who are chronically absent may not be permitted to attend field trips, school dances, prom, etc
Only full day absences count toward chronic absenteeism.
Please do not miss a full day for doc appts., court, or any other appts. if at all possible. We would love to have you here for a partial day than you missing a full day.
Being absent on early dismissal days- counts as full day absences. Please come to school on those days to help ensure that you stay off the chronic absenteeism list.
Please call the school with any questions!
Let's have an awesome year!

We are excited to welcome our students back tomorrow, Thursday, August 8, 2024! Tomorrow and Friday will be half days for our students as we begin the new school year. See you in the morning!
