Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Students:
At Union High School, we believe the following:
Each student is responsible for his/her behavior.
All students have an obligation both to themselves and others to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
The educational process must be conducted in an atmosphere conducive to learning, free of disruption and threat to persons or property, and supportive of individual rights.
Behavior that distracts from a student's ability to profit from instruction or that infringes upon the rights of others warrants disciplinary action.
The intent of any disciplinary action is to bring about a positive change in the student's behavior.
Parents are an important part of our school, the education we provide, and the behavior we expect from all students; however, all school-related discipline decisions are made by the Union administrative team and parents are expected to support those decisions.
The Union High School Code of Conduct applies to all curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities that occur under the governance of the school. These activities include, but are not limited to, bus transportation, athletic events and academic contests, field trips, and other activities sponsored by the school.
Additionally, student-athletes (this term will include all members of activities programs and other clubs sponsored by Union High School) are held to an additional level of expectation as they are representatives of the school and their families, and the opportunity to participate in athletic or academic extracurricular activities is a privilege and not a right.
Sincerely,
Jerred Chandler
Principal
