Hello UMS! 5th grade orientation will be at 5PM on Monday, August 5th, 2024. We will have a short meeting all together in the cafeteria and then students will go with their homeroom teachers.

Free Sports Physicals
In order to participate in a VHSL sanctioned sport student athletes will need an up to date physical. New physicals will be needed by July 1.
Here are a few opportunities:
Stone Mountain Health in Appalachia will be offering free sports physicals to anyone that may be in need of a physical. Physicals should be completed on a VHSL physical form. Those can be accessed online at the VHSL website, or you can pick one up in the office at UHS.
UHS will also be holding a few opportunities to receive a free physical. The first will be on June 27 from 3:30-6 at UHS.

Good morning UMS parents, we finish up most SOL testing with Science 5 and Civics today! Good luck to them!
One thing to note, we are still having school through next Thursday. haha. Students love to come home and say "I don't have to go", or something similar, but PLEASE SEND THEM. We want everyone here and to finish the year strong. Summer break starts NEXT Friday, not today. :-)
2024 Union P-Nut Football Draft is THURSDAY at 6PM on the field at Bullitt Park. Ages:7-12 Grades: 2-7
*Must be 7yo by 8/1/24 and cannot be 13yo by 7/1/24. No exceptions can be made to the age requirements.

I had very high expectations before going, and it was EVEN BETTER than I expected. It was AMAZING!!!

Hello 6th grade parents, Right now is an excellent time to schedule your upcoming 7th grader for their vaccinations. If you have these complete, please send us a copy.
These vaccinations must be completed before the 1st day of school, 08/08/2024 for ALL 7th graders. Don't wait until summer to get these to us, help us by doing this now.
Vaccinations needed are:
1.TDAP
2. Meningococcal
3. HPV- Parents may sign a form to opt out if you do not want your child to get this particular vaccine.

This Friday, April 26th, UHS Softball will have Little League Night. All Little League players that wear their jersey will get in free. We will play Ridgeview with varsity starting at 5 and the JV will follow.
UMS+UHS Choral concert tonight at 7PM at UHS! Come out and support the schools. Free admission.
Hello UMS parents! SOLs are approaching and just a reminder that 4 days a week (M-TH) we have tutoring after school. We have 2 certified teachers that stay in each grade and 6 bus runs to bring them home so that the runs aren't long. If your student wants to stay, especially to make up for absences, please contact us. Every kid that stays also gets a snack.
