This evening, Monday, November 20, at 6:30 pm, the Virginia Board of Education is hosting a listening session to give parents, educators, and community members the opportunity to learn more about the Board’s creation of new accountability measurements for Virginia’s public schools, as well as provide an opportunity for the public to discuss their expectations for the upcoming accountability measurements.
This will be the first chance for Southwest Virginians to weigh in on the issue, and I encourage you to share this information with your parents, educators and stakeholders in your area.

The Wise County School Board was pleased to witness a presentation from Coeburn Middle School about the wonderful things happening at the school. The presentation was given by students that included a model of a trebuchet and a video of the class using the trebuchet that they built to launch a pumpkin! Great job, students!
