Wise County Public Schools (WCPS) would like to inform the public of an individual's right to a free, appropriate public education. It is the responsibility of WCPS to actively and continuously identify, locate, and evaluate children, ages 2 to 21, residing in Wise County who are in need of special education and related services as defined in the Virginia Regulations. This includes students enrolled in private schools, who are home-schooled, migrant, ward of the state, homeless, or who are under 18 and are incarcerated in a regional or local jail in its jurisdiction for 10 or more days.

Parents and guardians may pick up meals Wednesday, June 30th for children ages 1 -18 on a first come, first served basis from 11 am - 1 pm at CMS, UMS and CHS and from 11 am -12 pm at SPE, and JWA. This will be the last pick up for summer meals, have a safe summer.

MECC’s Talent Search program is offering a FREE summer day camp. Participants can earn $60 for each session and up to $180 if they attend all 3 sessions. They’ll be learning about careers, STEM, and will also be able to earn a free college credit for SDV 100. The activities, lunch, and snacks are all being provided for free; students just need to provide their own transportation to and from campus.
